Jim Megna, comes from a family with a long history in the remodeling industry. His great-grandfather came to this country in the 1890s and worked as a laborer on some of Manhattans tallest structures. His grandfather was a pipe fitter for various industries during the wartime era. When the war ended, he started his own company as a residential plumber and was in business for over 40 years. Jim used to tag along with his grand-dad on jobs and hand him pipe wrenches much too heavy for a ten year old to lift.
In the 1970's, Jim’s father began his own remodeling company called Megna Home Improvements, located in Staten Island, NY. Jim went to work for the family business as a teenager and then joined the production team full time in 1984. In 1994, Jim and his dad became business partners and renamed the company Megna Building & Remodeling. Jim left the family business on Staten Island to open MBR in New Jersey.
Jim and his family have lived in the Montgomery/Princeton area for 17 years and he has proudly served his community for the last five years through Megna Building & Remodeling.
Remodeling has always been a part of Jim's life and his passion for the remodeling industry remains strong. Jim is now an executive board member of the Central Jersey National Association of the Remodeling Industry; NARI. and through NARI has completed rigorous testing to become a Certified Remodeler.
